The Kuwaa Mission needs volunteers to serve in Liberia as well as here in North America. The requirements are simple to serve here at home: be dedicated to the goals of the mission. You can live anywhere!
Some of our specific and immediate needs here are:
- Help our web page guru to keep it current, easy to use, posting articles
- Help our treasurer with year-end reports and various tasks
- Send out thank you cards to donors
- Help the publicity committee by working at conventions, talking about the mission at local churches and organizations
- Helping to organize photos and create publicity materials
- Organize local fund-raising events
- Record “talking books” on cassette tapes
- Gather materials for our workshops in Liberia
- Teacher training
- Bible school for kids
- Nursing workshops
- Women’s empowerment
- Sanitation
If you are interested in volunteering to go to Liberia it is a bit more involved but not overwhelming.
- You need to be in good health, have a valid US passport and yellow fever vaccination. Other shots are recommended but this is the only one required to enter Liberia
- Fill out a “Volunteer Application” and go thru a phone interview. You can find this application on our website.
- Raise your own funds to cover all your expenses; 10% of what you raise will go towards the General Fund of the mission
- We are looking for people who would be willing to:
- Help with teacher training workshops
- Help with Bible school programs
- Nursing workshops (very basic topics covered in most first aid courses)
- Physically help with various construction projects we undertake such as a clinic, wells, road culverts
- None of these require special advanced skills just a willingness to serve, be open to a new culture and be willing to “rough-it” for a minimum of two weeks.
